The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announce it will be hosting an Author Meet & Greet event with Professor Carlos Aguirre (University of Oregon), who will present his latest co-edited book, “Las Cartas del Boom” (Alfaguara, 2023).
The event will take place on Friday, February 9 at 7 PM, at Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center, 240 Belleville Ave, Bloomfield. Refreshments will be served. The event is free with registration. Please share with your department!

About the Author:
Carlos Aguirre is a historian specializing in the history of modern Peru and Latin America, currently a Fellow at Princeton University's Program in Latin American Studies. He has written extensively on the history of slavery and abolition, crime and punishment, political imprisonment, intellectuals, and print culture. He is the author of two books on Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas LLosa and the coeditor of Las cartas del Boom (2023).
