We are pleased to invite you to a virtual talk on “Contact-Induced Subjectivization of the Compound Past in Peruvian Andean Spanish” by Dr. Bethany Bateman McDonald, lecturer at the University of Georgia. She has served as the Quechua Instructor for the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute and currently teaches Spanish for the Department of Romance Languages. Dr. Bateman McDonald earned her PhD in Hispanic Linguistics in 2022, and her current research primarily investigates Quechua-Spanish language contact phenomenon in the Peruvian Andes. She is the recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Research Award and was nominated for the ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award.
