Gloria D'Alessio, a third-year Ph.D. student in Anthropology, recently presented her research at the 2025 CLACSO Conference held in Bogotá, Colombia. Her presentation, titled “Performatividad en la frontera del Darién: migrantes, trabajadores de la migración y autoridades en la producción del corredor migratorio,” offered preliminary insights from her ongoing fieldwork on migration through the Darién Gap.
Gloria was part of a panel alongside scholars from the Universidad de La Frontera Norte (Mexico) and the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, fostering a collaborative and transnational dialogue on migration dynamics in the region.
Her presentation will form the basis of a chapter in an upcoming CLACSO-edited volume focused on the Darién.
