• Camilla Townsend

Camilla Townsend, Board of Governors Distinguished Professor of History at Rutgers University, has been elected to the British Academy—the United Kingdom’s preeminent institution for the humanities and social sciences. Recognized for her groundbreaking work that brings the voices of the Aztec people to life through their own words, Townsend becomes the first Rutgers faculty member ever elected to the Academy in its 123-year history, and one of only a few American scholars from public universities among the 2025 fellows.

Congrats, Cami!
